River basin management plans and programmes of measures were first set up in 2009. They are important instruments for achieving the objectives introduced by the Water Framework Directive. The brochure summarizes the previous results of river basin management in Bavaria: It explains the monitoring programmes and shows the current status of Bavarian surface and groundwater bodies. Furthermore, it provides an overview of measures for reaching the objectives set out in the management plans.
